Hi, I’m Tracy, I joined the Trust in August 2022 and feel honoured to work with renal patients and affected others.
I am a BACP-accredited counsellor and I draw from different theoretical modalities according to the needs of a client. I am also a qualified Breathwork coach and offer this in my work with clients if this seems beneficial.
Many years ago, I was an Auxiliary Nurse at the QE11 and I worked on a surgical ward and in the main theatres there. I was also a Health Information Supervisor for the NHS Direct Online service and worked at the Lister back in 2001. I worked for a mental health charity for 16 years prior to training as a counsellor.
I am particularly interested in embodiment / somatic work and how we can use our bodies and breath to help trauma, anxiety, pain and depressive states. Recently I have done a lot of CPD on storytelling and how to tell stories that heal.
I am a creative person and tend to introduce creative exercises in my work with clients if they want to try something different or to approach distress in another way.
I look forward to meeting some of you if you feel you need support at any time. Looking at ourselves is not always comfortable, but perhaps you have reached the point where it feels necessary? Whatever is present for you, it’s always good to connect, feel heard and like someone really gets you.
I offer a gentle space in which I aim to understand what your life is like for you at the moment. I believe that people have the innate resources to heal, live and thrive in spite of adversity. I have witnessed this both as a counsellor and throughout the years I worked in mental health and addiction support.
