We have received an update on his fundraising 1,000km walk from a LAKPA
member and PD patient Nick Papé
”After some ups and downs, I’m delighted to share I’ve walked 500kms since I
started my dialysis journey. Half way to my annual target of 1000kms. Rather than
rob a picture from the internet, my daughter made this board which will go up on my
office wall.
There are about 30,000 people on dialysis at the moment in the UK, using dialysis to
do about 10% of what a kidney can do. People wait on average 1000 days for a
transplant from a deceased donor, and I’m proud to be raising awareness of this,
and chronic kidney disease.

As well as getting to 500kms, I’m also very close to £3000. Thank you to those that
have donated. If you haven’t donated, please do so and help improve the lives of
local people with kidney disease by supporting LAKPA.
Covid may have delayed my KMs, but it hasn’t stopped me hitting this goal.
Onwards to 1000kms, take care everyone and thank you for your support, it means a
lot.”

Please support Nick by making a donation through his JustGiving page:

It will all go to supporting kidney patients.
