Thank you for your interest in joining us. It’s free to join and you will get information about your local units plus a magazine called Kidney Life from the National Kidney Federation (NKF).
As a member of LAKPA you will be the first to hear all the latest news and of any progress in the modernising of our units. We organise trips and days out as well as many fun, fundraising and information disseminating events, which as a member you will be invited to. We publish a regular newsletter, which we send out by post and make available at our Units.
If you would like to register to become a member of LAKPA, a membership form is available on the website for you to complete, print out and return to our Membership Secretary at the address given. You can also hand your completed form in to any of the renal units/wards at Lister, Luton & Dunstable, Bedford, Harlow or St Albans.
We have recently reviewed our membership processes and procedures to take account of the new data protection regulations called the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR), an important part of which is to ensure that any information given to us is secure and protected. As part of our amended process, we now need the written consent of our members to communicate with them and we carefully note their communication preferences. Please note: in order to receive our newsletter, you will need to tick the relevant box on the form indicating that you consent to us sending you material through the post. Your information will not be shared with any third party, other than the companies that input data and distribute the LAKPA Newsletter on our behalf and the National Kidney Federation (NKF) (in order that you may receive their magazine ‘Kidney Life’).
It is completely free to join LAKPA, but any donation to help with our work would, of course, be gratefully accepted. If you are a UK taxpayer and would be happy for us to claim Gift Aid on your donation please complete the declaration that has been included on the membership form for your convenience. Thank you. Full details are set out in the Donations section of this web-site.
